Emma AJP

Journalist and Filmmaker based in London. LSA Alumni.

About Me

I am a British-Sri Lankan creative based in South East London. I'm an aspiring journalist; with a keen interest in news and current affairs.  After spending time in Sri Lanka after the Sri Lankan Civil War, I became interested in international relations and world politics.

Over the past two years, I have attended London Screen Academy, where I have developed my technical ability in Film and Television. At LSA, I have worked with mentors in the Journalism field, such as Laurence Lee (Al Jazeera) and presenter Jackie Long (Channel 4 News). Following the Technical Sound pathway, I developed knowledge in video production. During this time, I also completed an English A-level curating my aptitude as a writer.

My work includes interviews, documentaries and music videos. These projects have received official selections at international film festivals. My work aims to promote diversity and inclusion on screen and tell stories of those without a voice. I am politically active and have worked with social action groups such as Save Our Scene, BLM, Kill The Bill, Extinction Rebellion and the EIC at LSA.
